Rose Milkshake I Falooda Gujarati Recipe
INGREDIENTS2 teaspoons basil seeds
2 1/4 cups boiling water, divided
3-4 drops red food colouring
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup falooda sev vermicilli
2 teaspoons rose essence
2 scoops vanilla icecream
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon pistachios, chopped
1 teaspoon of rose petals
Soak basil seeds in 1 cup of water. In a small saucepan, place 1/4 cup of water, food colouring and sugar. Place on a medium heat till boiling, turn down to low and allow to slowly simmer whilst preparing vermicilli.
In another small saucepan, place remaining 1 cup of water and vermicilli, bring to the boil. Turn off and drain through a sieve with cold water. Turn off syrup.
Cut vermicilli into 2 cm pieces. Drain basil seeds. In 2 tall glasses, place basil seeds, sugar syrup, vermicilli and rose essence evenly to each. Add a scoop of icecream to each and fill with milk.
Garnish with pistachios and rose petals. Serve immediately.
